Dr. Tate has been practicing chiropractic since 1985. After receiving his B.S. degree from the State University of New York he attended the Medical College of Virginia where he earned his M.S. degree. He then worked in the rehabilitation medicine department at John's Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore for 2 years. Dr. Tate then accepted a commission as a lieutenant in the United States Public Health Service where he served as a therapist for 4 years at the Baltimore U.S.P.H.S. Hospital. He then returned to school and attended Life Chiropractic College in Marietta, Georgia where he received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree Magna Cum Laude in 1984. He has been in private practice since then. He has practiced at the Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates facilities in both Burlington and Chelmsford, MA. and still maintains a practice at their Chelmsford location.
Dr. Tate has taken many post-graduate training programs in radiology, sports injuries, repetitive stress injuries and auto accident injuries, to name a few. His special interest is in preventing workplace injuries and he completed a 300 hour post-graduate course in occupational health through Northwestern Health Sciences University. He is a certified trainer for Future Industrial Technologies, a California based company that specializes in preventing workplace injuries with their BACKSAFE and SITTINGSAFE programs. He has worked extensively with United Airlines, Medline, Interpark, Wells Fargo and other area companies in this capacity.
One of Dr. Tate's greatest thrills is to see families receive chiropractic care and he has had the privilege of seeing 2nd and now 3rd generations of patients. Dr. Tate is the father of 4 and the grandfather of six. Two sets of twins (Emma and Robin / Morgan and Ryan) and J.J. and Tyler. Outside the office he enjoys camping, exercise, gardening and traveling to new places.
